Help NASA adopt the Campus Food Bank's community pantry

Campus Food Bank usage has increased along with the cost of living and rising grocery prices, with food bank visits up almost tenfold in just five years. In order to better serve the needs of the university community, the Campus Food Bank opened its Community Pantry in Rutherford Library in January 2024.

For the second year, NASA will be adopting the pantry the week of August 11-15 through the adopt-a-week program. The estimated cost to stock the pantry for one week is $1,500.

NASA is accepting donations of cash, e-transfer, and non-perishable food items to help stock the panty, and will match the first $500 in donations. NASA members who donate $10 or more will be entered into a draw for a NASA jacket and coffee card. The winner will be announced in the NASA Buzz.

You can contribute by:

  • sending an e-transfer to events@nasaunion.ca. To be eligible for the draw, please provide your full name and email address in the message field of your e-transfer.
  • bringing your donation to the NASA Breakfast on July 9.
  • dropping off your donation at the NASA office (1200 College Plaza) Monday-Thursday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

If you are able to make a large group donation, please email NASA or call us at 780.439.3181 and we can arrange to visit your office to pick up your donation.

Donations after August 14 should be made directly to the Campus Food Bank.
