As of April 1, 2026, the various categories of Casual employees found within the Collective Agreement (i.e., Casual Student, Casual Level 1, and Casual Level 2) will be "collapsing." This means that the terms and conditions for all Casual staff will either remain as is (for current Casual Level 2 employees) or improve to those for Casual Level 2 employees (all other categories of Casual employees). This has the effect of simplifying the types of employees functionally to three: Casual, Auxiliary and Regular employees.
There are also some Supplemental Trades Employees that will not be affected by these changes. Casual employees at Level 1 or Casual Student employees will receive an email from NASA detailing these changes. Please note that any changes that affect pay will not be seen on paycheques until the April 24, 2026 pay. For all other members, please bring this to the attention of the Casual employees in your area.
