Many members will have noticed a delay in the most recent round of Human Resource Development Funding (HRDF). Historically, the application would have opened on September 1 for course and conference opportunities starting October 1 to December 31. The application is now currently expected to open in mid to late October.
Over the summer, due to security concerns with the previous application system, the employer engaged in a project to update the HRDF application. The new application system was initially expected to be available in early September. Unfortunately, the employer neglected to communicate with the HRDF Committee when first considering the new application, and upon testing, significant administrative issues were discovered. These issues resulted in the new application being delayed to the point it is now.
In recognition of these delays, once the new application is open, members will still be able to apply for learning funding for activities scheduled within the original application window of October 1 to December 31. This means that even if your learning has already started, as long as the scheduled start date is between October 1 to December 31, 2023, you will still be eligible to apply for funding.
