Welcome Jocelyn Johnson as NASA's Director of Operations

We are pleased to share that after an extensive process, the NASA executive board has selected Jocelyn Johnson as NASA's new Director of Operations!

Jocelyn brings a rich and varied background that makes her exceptionally well suited to support our union. With over a decade of experience spanning community social work, political advisory roles, campaign direction, and the labour movement, she has developed deep expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, internal organizing, and communications. Most recently, Jocelyn served as Director of Campaigns with the Alberta Federation of Labour (AFL) and as a Communications Representative with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), where she led media coordination, crisis communications, and member engagement initiatives. She has served on union executive boards, held shop steward positions, and contributed to three bargaining committees—experience that reflects a genuine commitment to the labour movement.

We are confident that Jocelyn's values, skills, and passion for the work align with NASA's mission, and we look forward to the contributions she will make as we work together to prepare for bargaining in 2028 and beyond.

Jocelyn will be joining the NASA team on June 1 and you'll have the opportunity to meet her in person at the Annual General Meeting on June 3. Please join the NASA executive in welcoming Jocelyn to NASA!
